DR. WENDY SIMPSON

Dr Wendy Simpson

Dr. Simpson is the proud owner and primary veterinarian of the new Morrisville Cat Hospital! Following her life long dream of becoming a veterinarian, she received her bachelor’s degree in Animal Science from Virginia Tech. In 1995, Dr. Wendy graduated from North Carolina State University with a Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine. In 1996, she completed an internship at Auburn University in small animal medicine and surgery. After moving back to Cary and practicing in a general small animal practice, Dr. Wendy took a position at a new all feline practice in Durham. After four successful years there, she decided to start her own feline practice closer to her home in Cary. Dr. Wendy is firmly committed to providing exceptional client service and compassionate veterinary care to all of her patients.

On a personal note, Dr. Wendy is married to Dr. Mathew Gerard who is a surgeon of large animals at North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine. They have three wonderful cats: Ollie, who is 3 years old and always into something; Gertie, who is 10 years old and loves to be in your lap; and Tess, who is 12 and a little prissy but definitely her mom’s cat!! In her spare time, Dr. Wendy enjoys Pilates, golf, water skiing, and visiting Australia (her husband’s homeland).

DR. KIM CAMACHO

Dr. Kim Camacho grew up in Hillsborough, N.C. and is proud to call herself a native North Carolinian.  She attended Texas A & M University for her undergraduate degree in marine biology, then returned to the state and graduated in 1993 from NCSU College of Veterinary Medicine.  Since that time, she has practiced exclusively small animal medicine.  Her areas of interest include dentistry, dermatology, and preventative medicine.  Dr. Camacho has always considered herself a cat person and cannot recall a time when she hasn't had cats.  Currently Dr. Camacho works part-time at Morrisville Cat Hospital and at a pet rehabilitation center.  The rest of her time is spent with her young daughters, Carson and Dallas.  The other babies she and her husband have are three cats, Cowboy, Matisse and McTavish.


SARA

Sara graduated in August 2002 from UNC with a degree in Biology. She is very interested in animal behavior and wants to teach people how to understand their pet's behavior. Sara will be developing our kitten classes to get our new parents off to the right start. Sara has two cats at home and is a very dedicated and friendly young lady.

BRIAN

BRIAN

Brian attended the University of Miami where he majored in anthropology with a focus in primate behavior. He worked with lemurs for 8 years both in Durham, NC and Myakka, FL. Brian recently moved back to NC and intends on attending NCSU Vet School. He hopes to focus either in zoo medicine, emergency medicine, or epidemiology. To further his career goals, Brian also works at Triangle Pet Emergency Treatment Service in Durham. Brian shares his home with 3 cats and a greyhound.

JESSICA

Jessica Ward

Jessica graduated from Duke University in 2005, though she originally hails from Idaho. She has performed behavioral research with a number of animal species, including rhesus monkeys and crowned lemurs. Most recently she spent a year studying lion reproduction at a field research camp in Botswana. Jessica is now thrilled to be working with cats of a more manageable size and friendlier temperament! She plans to attend veterinary school, hopefully at NC State. Besides animals, Jessica's other love is dancing, and she was the captain of Duke's dance team, the Dancing Devils. Jessica shares her home with her two angelic ragdoll cats, Ficus and Phantom.

JUSTIN

Justin Pelletier

Justin has worked in veterinary medicine for 4 years but has always loved animals of all kinds. He raised and showed llamas as a kid growing up in Connecticut. These days he is passionate about cats. Justin is owner of Cuzzoe, a Maine Coon cattery. He enjoys showing his cats in The Cat Fanciers’ Association and is a member of the Tarheel Triangle Cat Fanciers club. He is also very interested in feline nutrition. Justin shares his home with 3 cats (Fitch, Zoe, and Furrari), a Standard Poodle (Jacquelyn), and his newest kitten addition (Genesis).

KIM

Kim Struble

Kim is currently in her senior year at NC State as an animal science major. She has been working for Dr. Simpson part-time for over six years. Kim is presently applying to Vet School, and hopes to be accepted at NC State. She enjoys working with a variety of animals. In her free time she works with a Veterinarian that treats sheep and goats. She has 3 cats of her own and after Vet School plans to continue working with cats.

LASHANDA

LaShanda Eller

LaShanda N’Kaye Eller is a junior at North Carolina State University, where she is majoring in political science with a concentration in American politics. She is a 2002 graduate of Central Davidson High School in Lexington, NC, which is her hometown. Her future plan is to attend law school and become a criminal trial lawyer. In the meantime, she enjoys working at the Morrisville Cat Hospital, where she is the kennel assistant in the morning, where she has been employed since August 2005. She loves animals, especially her mother’s manx cat, Rambo. In her free time, LaShanda enjoys shopping, taking trips, and playing & watching tennis.

MEGAN

Megan Shrum

Megan graduated in from North Carolina State University in May 2004 with a BS in Zoology and a minor in anthropology. She met Dr. Simpson at the Duke University Primate Center where she has worked since January 2004. She has two cats which she adopted from Morrisville Cat Hospital. She has been working here since November 2004 and loves learning more about cats everyday.

SAMATHA

Samantha Trull

Sam graduated from NC State University in 2003 with a major in Zoology and a minor in Anthropology. She earned a master's degree in Primate Conservation in 2005 from Oxford Brookes University in England and works at the Duke University Primate Center as a Lead Technician. Sam has been a part-time staff member here in Morrisville since July of 2003 and really enjoys working with cats. She has one cat of her own and two small dogs. Working so closely with lemurs and cats has made Sam passionate about a career in animal welfare and habitat conservation.

THERESA

Theresa Oniffrey

In May 2004, Theresa became a client and in August became part of Morrisville Cat Hospital’s team. Theresa is originally from Chapel Hill, but now lives in Raleigh with her two cats. She is a senior attending NCSU and is working on a double major in animal science and zoology. Traveling is her most favorite thing. However, when she can’t take off to Tokyo she spends her time reading, camping or catnapping.
